On Sunday, January 30th Jimmy Binns attended a memorial mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in memory of Firefighter John Redmond who was killed in the line of duty 17 years ago. Later in the day Mr. Binns attended a memorial ceremony at the Arlington Cemetery to commemorate the death of an Upper Darby Police Officer, Dennis McNamara, who was killed in the line of duty 9 years ago.
Jimmy Binns dedicated a Hero Cop Plaque in memory of Detective Christopher Jones at the Middletown Police Administration Building. This dedication was the 217th plaque dedicated as part of the Hero Plaque Program that Binns founded on December 9, 2001 with the dedication of the 1st Hero Plaque in memory of Philadelphia Police Officer, Daniel “Danny” Faulkner.

Jimmy Binns dedicated 14 Hero Plaques on December 8, 2010 to commemorate the deaths of 13 Firefighters and a Police Officer who perished during a fire on December 23, 1910. It was the largest loss of public servants in the history of Philadelphia. The dedication of those plaques brings the total dedicated thus far as part of the Hero Plaque Program to 215 and these are the final plaques to be dedicated for 2010.
